Position Overview :
We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Investment Associate to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with experienced team members to conduct financial, commercial, and operational due diligence of investment opportunities. This includes producing documentation and presentations for investment decisions, and managing stakeholders and project execution for each transaction in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment with frequent opportunities to interact with the firm's senior leadership.
Responsibilities :
Deal SourcingIdentify and evaluate potential investment opportunities in the maritime industry and related sectorsEstablish and maintain a strong network of industry contacts, including entrepreneurs, co-investors, and other relevant stakeholdersAttend industry events and conferences to identify new opportunities and stay up-to-date on market trendsDeal ScreeningPerform initial analysis of potential investment opportunities, assessing their fit with Motion Ventures' investment strategy and criteriaDevelop and maintain a pipeline of potential investments, prioritizing them based on their potential impact and alignment with the fund's objectivesInvestment Due DiligenceConduct thorough financial, commercial, and operational due diligence on potential investments, working closely with the investment teamPrepare and present investment memos, financial models, and other documentation to support investment decisionsCollaborate with the investment team in deal negotiations, structuring, and execution, ensuring a smooth and efficient processQualifications :
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plusPrior experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or management consulting, preferably with a focus on the maritime industryStrong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to evaluate and assess investment opportunities objectivelyExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and other stakeholdersProactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environmentPassion for innovation and entrepreneurship, with a keen interest in the maritime industry and its potential for growthWhy Join Us
