Job Responsibilities
Carry out daily clinical rounds,
clinics or visits in assigned area / s by reviewing patients'
condition and ordering treatment and investigations as
required.
Attend to new admissions or
referrals by reviewing patients' referral notes, taking a
comprehensive history, performing physical examinations and
interviewing family members (as appropriate).
Carry out rounds with visiting consultants, and to
consider / carry out their recommendations as appropriate.
Perform clinical procedures e.g. suturing, venepuncture,
setting up IV lines, catheterization.
Participate in Patient Care Conference (also known as
multidisciplinary meetings), and contribute to the
multidisciplinary care and / or discharge planning of patients. This
may include screening and referring patients to other services such
as specialist, senior care centres, day rehabilitation centres,
Home Nursing Services and / or Home Medical Services.
Do exit rounds (in-patient setting) and to hand over to
the doctor on-call.
Do 1st Line on-call
(sleep-in) or stay-out calls as scheduled.
Cover the duties of the other doctors when on night duty,
and during their leave.
Keep abreast of
development in medical practices.
Participate
and contribute towards teaching and training sessions.
Participate in research work under the supervision of
senior doctors.
Participate in committee work,
project(s) as directed by the Medical
Director.
Job
Requirements
Possess a Medical Degree recognized by and
fully / conditional / temporary registered with the Singapore Medical
Council, with relevant post-graduate training in relevant
disciplines such as Internal, Rehabilitation, Geriatric, Palliative
and Family Medicine.
Basic post-graduate
medical degree acceptable as specialist qualification, e.g. Member
of Royal College of Physician and Masters in Family
Medicine.
Possess 2 to 8 years of
post-qualification experience.
