Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for research assistants in the Immune Cell Engineering Facility, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Immune cell engineering facility is primarily tasked with the manufacturing of CAR-T cell products for clinical trial use. Together with the Division of Paediatric Haematology Oncology in the Department of Paediatrics in NUH, we focus on the translation of cutting edge CAR-T cell technologies in early clinical trials for both children and adults. Appointments will be made on a yearly contract basis with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The primary responsibility of the research assistant in our group is to function as a cell engineer with relevant skills and expertise on the technical aspects of CAR T cell manufacturing. He or she will also be responsible for the documentation and filing of CAR-T cell manufacturing processes. In addition, a cell engineer is also responsible for the conduct and interpretation of some aspects of product quality testing.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The RA will be able to :

  • Develop relevant skills and expertise in the technical aspects of CAR T cell manufacturing
  • Work within a team of cell engineers to manufacture cell products for clinical trials
  • Undertake the day to day running of the projects at the study site, e.g. Collaborate with team members at the study sites
  • Develop good documentation skills during manufacturing processes to be proficient in cell manufacturing practices that are within the current regulatory framework
  • Be responsible for certain maintenance duties to ensure that the facility is well maintained to manufacture cell products for patients
  • Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures;
  • Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.

Qualifications

  • Have a basic science degree with good results;
  • be able to work independently and in a team, with attention to detail;
  • have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. MS office, Prism
  • have experience in aseptic cell culture techniques
