Roles & Responsibilities
The Assistant Marine Superintendent’s primary role is to ensure safe operations of the vessels and compliance to all international marine requirements.
He / She assists in the implementation and upkeep of the Safety Management System and will be required to conduct regular ship inspections to ensure compliance to the statutory requirements of the International Safety Management (ISM) code and International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) code. He / She is also alert to analyse risks and ensures compliance to the organisation's risk management framework.
The Marine Superintendent / Senior Marine Superintendent is also responsible for conducting pre-vetting inspection on board the ship and follow-up.
He / She provides guidance to the Master on board for nautical matters and also conducts incident investigation on board the vessel.
He / She promotes and develops a culture of continuous improvement in pursuit of organisational objectives.
The Marine Superintendent / Senior Marine Superintendent is expected to possess a sound understanding, knowledge and experience of ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, Maritime Labour Convention Marine Operations requirements.
Having ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OSHAS 18001knowledge is advantage.
To perform as ADPA / ACSO of the assigned Vessels as required.
