Job Description

The position is a full-time Research Engineer position in the Perceptica Robotics Lab in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the National University of Singapore. The selected candidate will work closely with the PI (Dr. Rajat Talak) on projects related to single and multi-robot mapping and navigation. The work will include :

• Developing a sensor and communication payload for robotic systems
• Indoor and outdoor experimentations with multi-robot systems
• Conducting accurate monitoring, documentation, and reporting of experimental results and research findings
• Develop innovative algorithms and methods to solve challenging problems in multi-robot communication, mapping, and navigation
• Dataset collection and processing

Qualifications

The position requires

○ At least a Bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution in Singapore or in the home country.

○ Demonstrable expertise in multi-robot communication system building

○ Prior experience with drones, photogrammetry, and multi-robot algorithms

○ Skills and technical expertise in coding : python, C++, ROS.

○ Skills to implement robot navigation stack.

○ Prior publications in multi-robot communication, mapping, and navigation is a plus.

○ A strong team player who is open-minded, independent, highly motivated, and can work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and diverse workforce.
