Roles & ResponsibilitiesAn Ophthalmic Investigation Technologist supports ophthalmologists in conducting various eye examinations that are crucial for diagnosing and treating patients' eye conditions.
Job Descriptions:
- Work under the directions of ophthalmologist to assist in the diagnosis of ocular conditions
- Conduct a range of ophthalmic tests for different conditions, such as glaucoma screenings, pre-operative cataract assessments, and other investigative procedures.
- Handle administrative tasks, including maintaining inventory and ordering medical supplies.
- Perform maintenance and calibration of diagnostic testing equipment.
- Maintain patient records, including medical history and test results
- Demonstrate the ability to meet required investigation competencies in a fast-paced environment
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Technology or equivalent, entry Diploma level are welcome
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Essential qualities include discretion, confidentiality, and attention to detail
- Enjoys working with patients
- Basic knowledge of eye anatomy is beneficial but not mandatory, as on-the-job training will be provided
