Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities :
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers in hull and accommodation outfitting design, covering arrangement, calculations, procurement, detail design, bill of materials, and 3D modeling for tenders and ongoing projects.
- Prepare and review technical specifications for outfitting equipment and materials, evaluate vendor bids, and oversee procurement.
- Develop and review layouts and foundation designs in line with specifications, class, and statutory rules for tender, class, owner’s approval, and construction.
- Ensure compliance with fire, safety, watertight integrity, lifesaving, mooring, towing, anchoring, and accommodation layout requirements.
- Review and manage designs, proposals, and technical inputs from external consultants and equipment suppliers, ensuring integration with in-house engineering teams.
- Liaise with ship owners, surveyors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure project progress.
- Support new design concepts, provide specialist technical advice across departments, and participate in tests and trials as required.
- Monitor industry developments, classification rules, and standards, ensuring knowledge is applied to design activities.
Requirements :
Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.7 - 10 years’ experience in engineering design within Marine / Offshore / Oil & Gas industries or Classification Societies.Strong knowledge of international design codes, Classification / Statutory rules, and regulations.Proven engineering design and project management skills with leadership experience managing teams.Expertise in naval architecture, structural, outfitting, and accommodation design.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Aveva Marine, NAPA, Microsoft Office, Rhino 3D; CFD software knowledge preferred.Advanced 3D modeling skills with CAD software will be an advantage.Interested candidates who wish to apply for the advertised position, please click on the APPLY button below to send in your resume.
