π’ About the Role
The Technical Support Officer will support the Art and Music Units by ensuring smooth operations of logistics, resources, student supervision, and administrative tasks. The role involves hands-on technical and administrative support for classrooms, workshops, and performance areas within the school.
π Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday : 9 : 00 a.m. β 6 : 00 p.m. (inclusive of 30 mins lunch break)
- Friday : 9 : 00 a.m. β 5 : 30 p.m. (inclusive of 30 mins lunch break)
- Off Days : Saturdays, Sundays & Gazetted Public Holidays (unless specially arranged with off-in-lieu)
π¨ Key Responsibilities (Art Unit)
ποΈ Assist in acquisition and processing of materials and purchases (receiving, DO processing, sorting, and storage).ποΈ Handle paperwork for condemnation and disposal of obsolete or damaged items.π§° Manage maintenance and upkeep of all Art Block rooms (6 Art rooms, Kiln room, Woodwork room, Darkroom, and related areas).π©βπ Supervise students during independent work or internal examinations when required.π§Ύ Manage attendance and communication for Sec 1β4 AEP Centre students with schools and parents.π Oversee security of Art rooms via CCTV monitoring and daily lock-up at 6 : 00 p.m.πΌοΈ Provide logistical support for Art exhibitions and student participation in festivals (e.g., SYF Art Festival).πΈ Assist in photo documentation of student work for teaching and learning reviews.π§± Oversee renovation or repair works within the Art department.π΅ Key Responsibilities (Music Unit)
πΌ Support procurement and maintenance of instruments, music materials, and related resources.π Manage the music library cataloguing and stock taking of materials.π©βπ€ Supervise students when teaching staff are not present.π Oversee security and daily lock-up of music rooms by 6 : 00 p.m. during term time.ποΈ Set up instruments, computers, and audio equipment for lessons.π₯ Assist in setting up video cameras for practical music examinations.π§ Qualifications, Skills & Experience
π Qualification : Full GCE O-Level Certificate or equivalent.π¬ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.π€ A good team player with initiative and independence.π» Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.π« Minimum 2 yearsβ experience working in a school environment directly with students.π¨ Experience in makerspace or art studio environments preferred.πΉ Prior experience supporting music lessons and maintaining music rooms.π Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.Tell employers what skills you have
