Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Budget & Cost Data Analysis & Insights

  • Collaborate closely with finance, operations, and cost management teams to identify pain points (e.g., budget over / under-spending, abnormal fixed / variable cost ratios).
  • Extract multi-source data (budgets, actuals, expenses, resource usage) from different systems via SQL.
  • Visualize with Tableau to create dashboards (budget-vs-actual, cost trends, department / project breakdowns), then deliver reports and optimization recommendations to drive cost reduction.
  • Facilitate requirements discussions, translate specifications, and prepare reports by gathering and documenting requirements in both ENGLISH and MANDARIN with stakeholders in China who communicate solely in MANDARIN.

2. Budget & Cost Tool Efficiency

  • Support development / iteration of budget management systems and cost dashboards.
  • Design interactive tools : real-time budget progress trackers (with alerts) and dynamic cost trackers (project allocation, inter-period expenses).
  • Use Python to build scripts (data cleaning, anomaly detection, auto-reporting) to reduce manual financial work, improving accuracy and efficiency.

    • Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical and engineering fields.
  • Proficiency in using Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker; advanced SQL skills are essential.
  • Excellent understanding of various types of databases, including relational and distributed databases.
  • Experience with Python is a plus.
  • Proven analytical and technical skills in building batch or streaming data pipelines for big data.
  • Proficient (written and spoken) in ENGLISH and CHINESE (Min B3 in GCE "O" Level) or equivalent) to facilitate requirements discussions, translate specifications, and prepare reports with MANDARIN - SPEAKING ONLY stakeholders in China.
