Occupational Therapists use activities with specific goals to ensure maximum recovery and optimal independence of individuals with disease or injury. Occupational Therapists deal with the development and maintenance of a person's capacity, throughout life, to perform those tasks and roles essential to productive living, including self-care, daily living, leisure and work.
Occupational Therapy Services are provided within a multi-disciplinary setting. An Occupational Therapist must ensure a high standard of clinical practice and professional conduct in all areas of patient care, and proactively participate in continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
As a Principal / Senior Occupational Therapist, he / she should have extensive experience and knowledge in the area of inpatient, outpatient, community and preventive care. The therapist will have advanced expertise and knowledge in the area that he / she is specializing in. The Principal / Senior Occupational Therapist should have a comprehensive understanding and insights into departmental and hospital operations and directions. He / she should also be able to initiate and oversee the planning, implementation and execution of new services and initiatives.
