Roles & Responsibilities
HSBC Asset Management (“AM”) Product Group is responsible for the strategic and commercial development of AM Product manufacturing capabilities including Development, Management, Governance, Support and Mandate delivery across all Global Markets. The product function has undergone a significant transformation in recent years and continues the build out of new platforms, automating / standardizing BAU delivery by making the business more efficient, freeing up resources to focus on value add activities. The Product Management & Governance function is at the centre of this ongoing transformation within Product.
The main objectives of the role holder will be to :
- Support the Global Product Management & Governance vertical on both global and local initiatives as a senior member of the Singapore team sititng on the local ExCo
- Share information and assist in the implementation of best practice across the fund platforms – Global ranges distributed in SEA and local products (if required) with other Global and local Product managers
- Lead & oversee the development (feasibility / design / due diligence) and delivery of new funds on the VCC platform, client propositions & solutions, for AMSG’s internal and external clients, in cooperation with other AM offices
- Ensure commercially viable and effective development and timely delivery of all new product launches / registration or enhancements to existing products in SEA as per AMG strategy and focus on products that are either strategically important and / or have a solid commercial case
- Oversee (or support as the case may be), from a product perspective the integration of new clients and investment capabilities for both long only and Alts strategies.
- Act as a change leader to streamline processes and procedures related to new fund development and product enhancement processes; define the detailed roles and responsibilities of all parties involved in the implementation and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful launch / change program.
- Establish governance processes (LNBC) for new fund and distribution developments, aligned with Global processes
- Assist and help drive SE Asia wide commercial iniatives
- Ensure product documentation that falls under his / her responsibility is of the highest standard, in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for the Global ranges distributed in Singapore.
Provide supervisory responsibilities to junior members of the AMSG product team.
Principal Accountabilities :

Liaise with Head of Product Management & Governance as well as members of the other product verticals to support new developments and initiatives to help deliver AM’s commercial strategy.With the broader product team, deliver high quality product documentation applicable for the Singapore and other SEA markets as applicable.Lead & oversee the development (feasibility / design / due diligence) and delivery of new funds on the VCC platform, client propositions & solutions, for AMSG’s internal and external clients, in cooperation with other AM officesDeliver & implement regulatory change within documentation for both for Global funds distributed in Singapore and other SEA markets.Assist in any governance related approvals and provide recommendations to enhance processesWork on and execute initiatives to streamline processes, either through technology or offshoring, resulting in improving efficiency.Support the business by providing appropriate information and documentation to help service the business to fulfil regulatory and commercial obligations.
Customers / Stakeholders
Develop good working relationships with other colleagues in the Product Management & Governance and wider product function globally as a priority.Engage with all the relevant stakeholders and building up a strong working relationship, including External and Internal clients of AM / Group, Product Specialists, Legal, Depositary, Luxembourg Management Company, Fund Operations etc to facilitate the successful delivery of projects.Leadership & Teamwork
Member of the Product Management & Governance team with a primacy of Global intiatives as well as locally domiciled mutual funds in Singapore and potentially further afield.Provide supervisory responsibilities to junior members of the AMSG product team.Liaising and coordinating with other functions / teams and stakeholders within AM and the HSBC GroupOperational Effectiveness & Control
Manage the product lifecycle according to the fund governance framework and product policies.Improve efficiency, through offshoring and helping to systemize delivery of standard documentation and processes.Maintain and improve product documentation to the highest standards and ensure regulatory and FIM requirements in relation to Product and Platform reviewsTo operate in accordance with the principles laid out in the AM FIM, the AM policies and the Terms of Reference of the GNBC / LNBCsTo own, monitor and report on Controls as required in respect of Risks identified for global funds in SEA markets or local products.Establish governance processes which are aligned to Global standardsMajor Challenges

Job Context :
