Job Summary
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network and security infrastructure, providing 24 / 7 operational support, and overseeing vendor and project management for related initiatives.
Mandatory Skill-set
- Degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent);
- Must have technical network certification (CCNP, CCNA);
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Network and Data Centre administration (Cisco Routers, Switches, ACI);
- Strong knowledge of network technologies (TCP / IP, IPSec, VRRP, HSRP, SNMP, NAT, Multicast, Subnetting);
- Proficient in routing protocols — BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS, MPLS;
- Hands-on experience with network security (Checkpoint, ASA) and tools like DNS, Proxy, F5 LTM, Cisco ISE, RSA;
- Experience in system performance monitoring, capacity planning, and availability management;
- Familiar with WAN technologies, structured cabling, and data centre infrastructure (power, cooling, security, layout);
- Working knowledge of network management platforms (e.g., MRTG, ELK);
- Good in IT operations (24x7) and in vendor and project management;
- Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities.
Desired Skill-set
Technical network certification (CCIE);Security-related certifications preferred (CDCP, CISSP, Ethical Hacker, or similar).Responsibilities
Strong expertise in network infrastructure management and data centre operations with proven ability to maintain system availability of at least 99.96%;Hands-on experience in network, data centre, and security infrastructure maintenance, including license and asset tracking;Proven ability in vendor management, ensuring SLA compliance and supervising onsite vendor operations at remote data centres;Proficiency in implementing, patching, upgrading, and executing BCP and DRP exercises;Strong documentation skills for installation, administration, and operational procedures;Experience providing 24x7 operational and on-call support;Subject matter expertise in networking, data centre, and security technologies, with a focus on technology evaluation and feasibility studies;Ability to assess risks and provide mitigation strategies for new projects and security assessments;Demonstrated experience in independently managing network and security projects and complex infrastructure changes;Proficiency in developing and maintaining IT policies, processes, and standards for network, data centre, and security operations.Should you be interested in this career opportunity, please send in your updated resume to recruit@sciente.com at the earliest.
