Job Description
We are seeking a Barium Titanate (BTO) Engineer (PhD required) to drive the development of high-performance nonlinear photonic devices using thin-film BTO.
The role will focus on understanding and controlling the relationship between crystal growth parameters and electro-optic coefficients (EOC), optimizing thin-film crystallinity, orientation, and strain to maximize χ(2) nonlinearities.
The successful candidate will lead the design and fabrication of waveguides, modulators, and resonators that exploit BTO’s exceptional Pockels matrix, targeting ultra-compact, high-speed devices exceeding 100 GB / s modulation rates. The position also involves pioneering heterogeneous integration of InGaAs photodetectors and SPADs with BTO devices for advanced optical communications and quantum photonics applications, achieving high coupling efficiency, low noise, and scalable on-chip integration.
