Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Oversee vetting and pre-vetting inspections by Oil Majors, ensuring vessels' compliance with local / international maritime requirements.
  • Communicate with oil majors to secure vessel acceptance, and liaise on vetting matters.
  • Monitor and support fleet operational matters, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to Masters and Navigational Officers on nautical standards and best practices.
  • Lead safety initiatives including near-miss reporting, incident investigations, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct and ensure timely completion of internal audits, ISPS audits, and annual Superintendent Navigation audits.
  • Liaise with DPA for policy implementation and assist with crew training, seminars, and maintaining industry relationships.
  • Coordinate operational support for the fleet, including logistics and office risk assessments, and ensure timely closure of non-conformities.

Requirements

  • COC Class 1 with tanker sailing experience.
  • At least 2 years served onboard tanker, including minimum 12 months at management level (command experience preferred).
  • Minimum 1-year shore-based experience in a ship management company.
  • Supervisory experience ashore in tanker companies will be advantageous.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; analytical, independent, and result-oriented, with ability to start at short notice preferred.
