Roles & Responsibilities

Head of Technical Sales Role – Singapore

The role will be based in our Singapore office and will form part of our Asia based sales team, reporting to the Head of Asia.

Responsibility : To promote Utmost Wealth Solutions products and services to IFA firms in Singapore through the provision of technical focused support to explain and differentiate the company's offerings, with a focus on delivering increased sales and market share. Includes identifying and developing new IFA partnership opportunities with a strong focus on technical skills and knowledge, backed by demonstrated experience of insurance-based wealth solutions for international mobile HNW clients, especially UK related planning needs.

The role operates in a highly regulated market and requires a proven ability to influence and build strong relationships internally and externally.

Key Result Areas :

  • Maximise external partner engagement through targeted training and presentations, including but not limited to UK focused financial planning solutions and the use of ‘portfolio bonds’
  • Translate overall distribution strategy into targeted account plans with a focus on developing and executing opportunities to deliver high quality volume business and increasing market share
  • Utilise personal network and apply market knowledge and commercial acumen to identify and engage high value prospects / new opportunities
  • Build and maintain high value relationships with advisory firms in Singapore
  • Identify, obtain and coordinate the support required to deliver agreed targets (resources, training etc.)
  • Support and drive the delivery of an excellent customer experience
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of applicable wealth solutions and supporting technical information
  • Build and share knowledge around trends and developments in the Financial Services marketplace (e.g. regulation, legislation, product developments, competitor information)
  • Develop and maintain financial planning technical knowledge through the achievement of relevant professional qualifications
  • Ensure all delivery is consistent and compliant with relevant regulations
  • Deliver services on a fair and commercially viable basis, containing costs in line with business requirements
  • Demonstrate collaboration as part of Asia / Global sales team to maximise business opportunities for the Group
  • Being a Brand ambassador, increasing awareness of Utmost, its strengths and overall value proposition
  • Internal stakeholder engagement to drive collaboration and support for business channel

Person Specifications :

  • Financial Planning or equivalent qualifications, with a focus on UK technical / insurance qualifications and experience
  • At least 10 years financial services experience
  • Experienced salesperson with successful background in wealth solution / financial services sales
  • Proven ability in relationship management and strong networking skills demonstrated by an ability to develop a high personal profile and influence within the targeted accounts
  • Strong track record of identifying and delivering new relationship and sales opportunities
  • Deep understanding of the financial advice marketplace and customer drivers with a focus on international planning
  • Ability to consider the strategic issues affecting the whole business, and use this to identify implications and business opportunities
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent understanding of competitor platforms and products
  • Excellent understanding of technical sales drivers for insurance-based wealth solutions
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements within own area of work and broader context
  • In-depth knowledge of competitor activity / competitor offerings in this market segment
  • Strong time management skills

  • In-depth knowledge of designated high value customers, key business drivers, key influencers, and profit / cost drivers
  • Financial analysis skills and ability to understand profit drivers involved in business opportunities
