Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title : AS400 / IBM iSeries Developer

Location : Singapore

6 Months Contract

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain AS400 programs according to business requirements using RPGLE / AS400, CLP / 400, CLLE / 400, AS400 / Query, SQL, and IBM MQ.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
  • Perform unit testing, debugging, performance testing, and support the full project SDLC, including documentation, code review, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of all documentation, design, build, testing, and deployment tasks according to project work breakdown structures.
  • Collaborate with production support teams for production activities, migrations, continuity testing, and environment migration tasks.
  • Escalate critical technical issues and potential problems to the Application Lead or Project Manager to address risks proactively.
  • Work with toolsets including ALDON, Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Veracode, JIRA, Confluence, and ARCAD.
  • Track project progress, follow up with stakeholders, and provide weekly project progress reports and meeting minutes.
  • Collaborate with vendors, tech leads, and system architects to ensure solutions meet security, regulatory, and architectural standards.

Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Strong experience with system integration and interfacing.
  • Hands-on experience with all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

    • Requirements & Skills :

  • Proficient in RPGLE / 400, CLLE, CLP, IBM MQ, and AS400 / Query.
  • Strong understanding of IT security and cash management module design and development.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance; quick learner and team player.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Payment systems experience is an advantage.
  • Comfortable working in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
