Roles & Responsibilities
IT Operations Management
Support daily functioning of Company’s IT infrastructure to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and perform optimally
- Support daily IT operations, including network management, server administration, and system support, to ensure continuous availability and optimal performance
- Monitor system health through regular checks, performance metrics, and logs; troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to minimise disruptions
- Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems across the organisation, ensuring they meet operational requirements
- Regularly test backup and contingency plans to ensure data integrity and business continuity
Maintenance & Support
Ensure all IT systems and hardware are maintained properly, with routine updates and support provided to staff to resolve technical issues efficiently
Schedule and perform routine maintenance, including updates, patches, and system upgrades, to keep IT infrastructure secure and up-to-dateProvide technical support to staff and end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues in a timely mannerMaintain an accurate inventory of IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and consumables, to support asset management and procurementDocument all maintenance activities, system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and support requests for future reference and complianceSecurity & Compliance
Support the safeguarding of Company’s digital assets by implementing security policies, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Assist in implementing and enforcing IT security policies and procedures to protect organisational data and infrastructureSupport regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks to identify and mitigate risksEnsure all IT activities adhere to data privacy laws, organisational policies, and industry best practicesEducate staff on security awareness and best practices to prevent security breachesAssist in conceptualising the security incident management strategy, as well as the implementation and enforcement of security incident response plansVendor & Stakeholder Coordination
Manage relationships with external vendors and internal departments to ensure effective procurement, support and implementation of IT solutions
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for hardware procurement, maintenance, and support services, ensuring service level agreements are metLiaise with internal departments to understand their IT needs and provide timely technical support and solutionsAssist in evaluating, recommending, and selecting new hardware or software solutions to meet organisational requirementsTrack vendor performance and manage ongoing relationships to ensure quality service deliveryMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related fieldAt least 7 years in IT operations, support or maintenance rolesExperience with network management, server administration, and IT security best practicesFamiliarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plusRelevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, or Cisco CCNA are advantageous Specific Skills (Knowledge, skills and abilities)Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking technologiesAbility to diagnose and resolve complex IT issuesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with users, technical teams, and vendorsAbility to work collaboratively with other IT professionals and usersUnderstanding of cybersecurity best practices and tools (firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability management)ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Basic Scripting & Automation Skills – Ability to develop simple scripts to automate routine maintenance tasks, improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.Emerging Technologies Awareness – Knowledge of new and emerging IT trends such as IoT, AI, or edge computing, with the ability to evaluate their potential benefits for organisational infrastructure.Tell employers what skills you have
