Project Controls Director

Overview

Project Controls Director role at Arup in Singapore. Lead commercial and project controls for a major infrastructure programme. Interface with stakeholders, joint venture partners, and internal leadership. Drive commercial excellence, risk management, and ensure compliance with Singaporean regulatory frameworks and international aviation standards.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute commercial strategies including procurement, contract management, cost management, financial forecasting, and risk management. Lead commercial delivery in line with strategic, financial, and operational goals.

Provide leadership in cost management, scheduling, and performance tracking. Implement enterprise-grade digital controls systems tailored to aviation infrastructure delivery.

Identify and mitigate commercial risks including claims, contract variations, and disputes. Ensure full compliance with Singaporean aviation regulations and international standards.

Act as the primary commercial interface with joint venture partners, contractors, and government stakeholders. Collaborate with regional and global teams to ensure consistent application of best practices.

Mentor commercial and controls staff, foster a high-performance culture, and support talent development. Drive continuous improvement through digital innovation and marginal gains.

Qualifications

Tertiary degree in engineering, architecture, quantity surveying or construction management.

Extensive experience in commercial leadership roles on major aviation or infrastructure projects.

Deep expertise in project controls, risk management, and contract administration.

Strong background in dispute resolution, claims management, and commercial negotiations.

Digital-first mindset with experience implementing enterprise-grade commercial systems.
