Job Responsibilities :
1. Production Scheduling : Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer demand and business goals. Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient scheduling of manufacturing activities.
2. Material Requirements Planning (MRP) : Conduct material requirements planning to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components. Work closely with the procurement team to manage inventory levels, reduce excess stock, and minimize stockouts.
3. Capacity Planning : Assess production capacity and resource availability to meet production schedules. Identify bottlenecks and constraints in the production process and develop strategies to mitigate them.
4. Demand Forecasting : Utilize demand forecasting techniques to predict future production needs based on sales forecasts and market trends. Align production plans with forecasted demand to optimize resource allocation and production efficiency.
5. Workflow Coordination : Coordinate workflow between different departments, including production, quality, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations. Ensure that all production activities are synchronized to avoid delays and disruptions.
6. Performance Metrics and Reporting : Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track production planning performance. Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms to monitor KPIs, analyze performance trends, and make data-driven decisions.
7. Process Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvement in production planning and scheduling. Implement Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
8. Inventory Management : Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to ensure adequate supply for production. Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess inventory and reduce carrying costs.
9. Collaboration and Communication : Collaborate with other departments, such as production, procurement, quality, and logistics, to ensure alignment and effective communication. Communicate production plans, progress, and changes to relevant stakeholders.
10. Problem Solving and Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve issues that may impact production schedules, such as material shortages, equipment breakdowns, or quality problems. Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions and ensure continuity of production.
11. Data Management and Analysis : Maintain accurate records of production schedules, material requirements, and inventory levels. Analyze production data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and support decision-making.
12. Compliance and Standards : Ensure that production planning activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. Maintain documentation and records to support compliance and auditing requirements.
13. Technology and Systems Utilization : Utilize production planning and scheduling software to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in production planning and implement relevant tools and systems.
14. Training and Development : Provide training and support to production planning team members to enhance their skills and knowledge. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
15. Innovation and Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for innovation and recommend new technologies or methods to enhance production planning processes. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness in production planning.
Jobs Requirements :
1. Educational Background : Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business administration, logistics, planning, or engineering
2. Experience in Planning Control : Proven experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing setting. Experience in managing quality control processes and teams in small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is advantageous.
3. Knowledge of Forecast / Planning Standards : Strong understanding of planning and scheduling systems, standards, and methodologies. Familiarity with relevant regulations and certifications specific to the manufacturing industry is essential.
4. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills : Excellent analytical skills to interpret forecast and planning data, identify root causes of defects, and implement effective solutions. Proficiency in using planning analysis tools and software.
5. Communication Skills : Strong communication skills to effectively convey forecast and planning issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and present findings to senior management.
