Job Purpose

Full‑time position in Singapore to deliver teaching on the BEng degree programme in Mechanical Engineering offered jointly by the University of Glasgow (through the University of Glasgow Singapore (UGS)) and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT); to engage in scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) in order to contribute to the advancement of the discipline and / or its teaching practice at course, degree programme, school, institution and profession and national levels; to undertake administrative and management tasks associated with University of Glasgow Singapore activities. The required area of expertise for this position is in aeronautics and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with knowledge of UAV design and system integration, aircraft performance and propulsion, guidance, and navigation for UAVs. Additionally, knowledge in computational aerodynamics is desired.

UGS is a subsidiary of the University of Glasgow that works in partnership with SIT. Its mission is to :

• deliver in‑country undergraduate Honours degree programmes to the same high standard as those of University of Glasgow in the UK for a high quality education that equips students for a lifetime career as leaders in industry and commerce
• provide PhD and professional development training in support of industry in Singapore

• establish and promote its multidisciplinary research portfolio in an international context and fully engage with societal changes as identified by major international funding bodies.

This post is based at the SIT Punggol campus in Singapore and from time to time, you may be required to work at a different campus. There may be a requirement to visit the UK for induction and personal development activities as appropriate.

Assistant Professor : Competitive salary will commensurate with experience and agreed on appointment.
