Roles & Responsibilities
The Host / Hostess greets arriving guests, welcomes them into the establishment and escorts them to the dining room to seat them. He / She manages reservations and seating arrangements. He / She maintains menus and host stand. He / She monitors the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables. He / She estimates wait times for guests, monitoring the guest waiting list and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting. He / She answers the telephone,book reservations and move tables together to accommodate large parties. When required, he / she is expected to perform the basic tasks of a waiter e.g. bringing dishes to guests and help in clearing and setting of tables.
