Roles & Responsibilities
Accountabilities / Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of vessel port calls, including arrival, berthing, cargo operations, bunkering, and departure.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the vessel and all relevant local authorities (e.g., Immigration, Customs, Port Health, MPA).
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of pre-arrival notifications, inward / outward clearance documents, and statutory declarations.
- Liaise with terminal operators, pilotage services, tugboats, mooring gangs, and stevedores to align operational plans and avoid delays.
- Arrange and supervise ancillary services such as crew change, medical assistance, launch services, garbage disposal, fresh water supply, and provision deliveries.
- Monitor vessel operations to anticipate and resolve any potential disruptions or operational challenges.
- Maintain constant communication with ship owners, operators, and charterers, providing regular updates and reports on port status and cargo operations.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, security, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Manage port disbursement accounts (DA), obtain proforma approval, and control costs related to the port call.
- Handle emergency situations, such as medical evacuations, or equipment failure, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
- Participate in safety and operations meetings and training sessions to stay updated on port regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of vessel movements, documentation, and agency reports.
Skills and Qualifications :
Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level or a related field preferred.Minimum 1–3 years of experience in ship agency.Knowledge of local port regulations, shipping documentation, and clearance procedures.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and authorities.Able to work independently and under pressure, especially during irregular hours and on weekends / public holidays.Possession of a valid driving license (Optional)Tell employers what skills you have
