About us

SCHOTT Electronic Packaging is a leading developer and manufacturer of hermetic housings and other components for the reliable, long-term protection of sensitive electronics. Our core technologies are glass-to-metal and ceramic-to-metal sealing, thermal sensing components as well as a variety of cutting-edge specialty glass competences.

Your Contribution

  • Manage and execute purchasing and supply management activities in the global category / categories in his / her responsibility, also including compliance and corporate social responsibility (CSR)
  • Achieve purchasing targets and support the internal planning process for the category / categories under his / her responsibility
  • Develop global category strategy / strategies to optimize value generation for the SCHOTT group, includes generating the required transparency , on internal demand and relevant supply markets
  • Ensure the strategy / strategies remain updated and is / are aligned with relevant functions and business units
  • Execute global category strategy / strategies , including price and contract negotiations with suppliers
  • Report and monitor global category / categories performance (using standardized KPIs)
  • Support or be purchasing responsible for projects, , new product launches (if being the project purchaser); ensure early involvement of purchasing
  • Lead cross-functional cooperation for the global category / categories
  • Ensure timely involvement of cross-BU, cross-functional Sourcing Council(s) for guidance and decision making
  • Support or lead special initiatives to optimize value generation or increase efficiency of purchasing activities (, benchmarking, global sourcing….)
  • Risk management – identification and elimination of potential exposures by counter measure s

Your Profile

  • Commercial and / or technical university degree
  • Min. 3 years occupational experience, thereof at least 2 years within purchasing or any other relevant area
  • Fluency in English, further language skills beneficial
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Understanding of relevant business law, for contracting
  • Strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, ability to work in teams
