Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Prepare load schedules, cable sizing, and single-line diagrams.
- Supervise site installation works, including cabling, lighting, earthing, power distribution, and ELV systems.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
- Monitor project progress and prepare reports, as-built drawings, and handover documentation.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and rectification works.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for material submittals, approvals, and delivery follow-ups.
- Manage site activities for the execution of electrical works, leading the team and supervising implementation.
- Coordinate effectively with consultants and the main contractor.
- Monitor work progress, maintain proper records, and ensure timely completion.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations, ensuring full compliance by the workforce.
- Oversee and monitor subcontractors’ work to ensure adherence to specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.
- Supervise testing and commissioning of transformers.
- Plan and arrange materials, tools, and equipment in advance for smooth execution.
- Provide project construction management, field engineering, supervision, and coordination of field instrumentation works in oil refinery projects.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor instrumentation activities.
- Implement quality plans, job procedures, inspection and test plans, and ensure compliance with quality assurance and control systems as per client requirements.
- Prepare and review engineering documents including instrument index, cable schedule, bill of materials, installation standards, data sheets, and cable duct layouts.
Requirements
Education & Certification
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.Relevant authority / Professional Engineer certification (advantageous).Experience
2–5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in construction projects.Hands-on exposure to LV / MV systems, distribution boards, and site supervision.Experience with commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects preferred.Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of electrical systems : power distribution, cabling, lighting, earthing, and control circuits.Familiarity with ELV, fire alarm, and safety systems is an advantage.Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and electrical design tools.Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (IEC, BS, IEEE, SS, NFPA).Strong knowledge of testing and commissioning of transformers.Proficient in electrical testing, including :
Insulation resistance test for cables.
Continuity test and troubleshooting of electrical wiring.
Distribution board (DB) installation and termination.
Megger testing.
Lightning protection system earth resistance and continuity tests.
Live testing of electrical cables and panels.
Skilled in installation of low-voltage panels.Ability to review general arrangement diagrams (GAD) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM Modelling).Soft Skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.Team-oriented with leadership potential.Other Requirements
