Roles & Responsibilities
The Principal Speech Therapist provides evidence-based clinical services with the multidisciplinary team, manages complex cases, reviews clinical protocols, assists in the planning and development of new services, conducts quality assurance audits, co-ordinates workload distribution and manpower deployment, manages day-to-day operations, optimize use of resources, and report on monthly service indicators as well as workload statistics for the team under his / her charge.
The Principal Speech Therapist contributes to the organisation’s efforts in providing quality patient care, delivering clinical education and engaging in quality improvement / research activities, besides leading the implementation of Speech Therapy team’s initiatives and programmes. In addition, he / she is responsible for staff performance management, as well as their training and development, for both professional and support staff in the team.
