Principal Engineer, Cybersecurity (1-Net)

Responsibilities

This role involves developing and implementing IT / Cyber security strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organization's information assets, infrastructure, and systems. The individual will drive cybersecurity solutions and initiatives to enhance organizational security and improve monitoring and response to incidents and risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, roadmaps, and policies to protect digital assets, systems, and data.
• Oversee daily operations of IT and cybersecurity functions, including network, server, application, endpoint, email, physical, and logical security.
• Lead and manage cybersecurity programs and initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Establish and maintain security controls, standards, and frameworks aligned with industry best practices and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security controls into systems, applications, networks, and infrastructure.
• Coordinate with internal audit and compliance teams to ensure effective security measures and risk mitigation.
• Engage with management and external auditors as needed.
• Monitor security events and incidents, leading response efforts to mitigate risks.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify weaknesses.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
• Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness and training programs to foster a security-conscious culture.
• Report on security metrics, incidents, and trends to management and stakeholders.
