Get to know the
Role : An Assistant
Project Manager (APM) assists the PM in his role, collaborates with
the Quantity Surveyor, Site Engineers and Supervisors in planning,
budgeting, allocating resources, and providing timely completion of
the project. They also ensure that the project is completed within
the set budget and is within the scope to the expected high quality
and results.
Accountable for the
overall implementation and completion of projects within projected
time, cost and quality
Lead and collaborate
with all relevant stakeholders to determine the specifications of
the project, planning and execution of day-to-day operations on
site
Negotiate contracts with external vendors
to reach profitable agreements
Obtain permits
and licenses from appropriate authorities, and ensure that the
sites comply with all regulations, e.g. : MOM, NEA, HDB,
etc.
Determine needed resources (manpower,
equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to
budgetary limitations
Plan all construction
operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines
will be met
Acquire equipment and material and
monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
Supervise the work of the project team and provide the
necessary guidance, or resolve issues and conflicts
swiftly
Evaluate progress and prepare detailed
reports for the management in a timely manner
Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and
report issues
Submission of all official
documents such as RFA / RFI, Method statements to consultants and
authorities
Providing support to project
manager for work scheduling in terms of P6 / MS projects or via excel
micro-schedules
Liaising with suppliers and
material providers for submissions and owner reviews Assist project
manager or higher management with data tracking for works done on
site
The
Must-haves :
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized
university, e.g. : PEB, BCA, SIA, etc.
Proficient knowledge in building and construction works
with detailed knowledge for building processes
Proficient in Microsoft Projects / Primavera P6 or other
relevant construction software
Min 1-2 years
experience in construction project management
A dynamic, positive and forward-thinking personality with
the ability to work under time pressure and remain calm in a
fast-paced
environment
The
Nice-to-haves :
PMP or
equivalent certification will be an advantage
Excellent client-facing communication
skills
