Senior / Respiratory Therapist

The Role

The responsibilities include but is not limited to:

• Clinically evaluate patients in order to formulate and implement an appropriate treatment regime
• Collect and evaluate relevant clinical date for airway protection, respiratory failure and provide recommendations for respiratory support
• Administer therapeutic interventions to alleviate impairment or functional limitations and to maximise optimal recovery
• Assemble, check and perform quality control on respiratory care equipment, and manage malfunctions
• Perform basic respiratory therapeutic procedures and diagnostic procedures
• Perform emergency and acute respiratory care procedures
• Implement and monitor continuous mechanical ventilator support and therapy
• Comply with infection control practices, clinical and service standards
• Provide respiratory homecare services, patient and family education
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities
• Maintain clear, appropriate and accurate documentation of all treatments in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Possess continuous extensive experience in the field of respiratory, sleep and neurodiagnostic testing
• BCLS and AED certification
