Job Summary
You will be working with our client who are well renowned in the public and financial sector. Seeking an experienced Unix Engineer with strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and associated technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimising our RHEL environments, OpenShift clusters, JBoss application servers, and Red Hat Satellite infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain RHEL systems across development, testing, and production environments
- Design, implement, and support OpenShift container platforms
- Administer and troubleshoot JBoss application servers
- Utilise Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning, patching, and configuration management
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance tasks
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and processes
- Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and operations
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical system support
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field5+ years of experience in Unix / Linux administration, with a focus on RHELStrong knowledge of OpenShift container platform administrationExperience with JBoss application server managementProficiency in using Red Hat Satellite for system managementAdvanced knowledge of RHEL system administration and troubleshootingExperience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and at least one programming language (e.g., Python)Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocolsExperience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack)Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, or higher)Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Knowledge of CI / CD pipelines and DevOps practicesFamiliarity with database administration (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery solutionsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a teamAttention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentIf you are interested in this role and would like to discuss the opportunity further please click apply now or email Chew Kai-Xinn at kaixinnchew@morganmckinley.com for more information.
