Roles & Responsibilities
DayOne is a data center pioneer developing and operating next-generation digital infrastructure for hyperscalers and large enterprises. We deliver reliable, cost-efficient, and scalable facilities designed for high-performance computing and cloud operations across Asia-Pacific.
Our portfolio spans Singapore, Johor (Malaysia), Batam (Indonesia), Greater Bangkok–Chonburi (Thailand), Hong Kong SAR, and Greater Tokyo, enabling us to support our partners’ digital growth through engineering excellence, sustainability, and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Solution Engagement
- Engage customers and project stakeholders to define mechanical system requirements and performance objectives for data center facilities.
- Provide technical consultation and develop mechanical system concepts, ensuring solutions meet capacity, reliability, and efficiency targets.
- Support the sales and solutioning process by preparing mechanical design proposals, equipment strategies, and technical documentation.
Design Management & Engineering Oversight
Determine system architecture, design parameters, and control philosophies for chiller plants, CRAH / CRAC systems, cooling towers, pumps, and related HVAC infrastructure.Ensure design compliance with DayOne's standards, regional codes, and international design practices (TIA-942, ASHRAE, Uptime Tier).Technical Standards & System Optimization
Develop and continuously update DayOne’s mechanical design standards, guidelines, and technical libraries for data center facilities.Conduct capacity planning, load analysis, and energy performance assessments to optimize PUE, WUE, and lifecycle cost efficiency.Evaluate and implement advanced mechanical technologies such as liquid cooling, high-efficiency chiller systems, and AI-driven environmental control.Lead R&D initiatives for next-generation data center cooling technologies and sustainability-driven mechanical innovations.Project Lifecycle Technical Management
Oversee mechanical system design implementation during construction, ensuring technical intent, constructability, and system integration are maintained.Provide on-site engineering support for installation, testing and commissioning.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with Sales, Design Delivery and Operations teams across regions to ensure coordinated design and delivery of data center capacity.Participate in design coordination workshops, peer reviews, and technical presentations across internal and external stakeholders.Job Requirements
Education & Professional Background
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent discipline.Familiar with data center design standards (TIA-942, ASHRAE TC9.9, Uptime Institute Tier Standards) and green building guidelines (SS564, LEED, Green Mark).Experience & Technical Expertise
