Position Overview
We are seeking a self-motivated and analytical Planning & Procurement professional to support air freight capacity planning, rate management, and carrier coordination. This role plays a critical part in ensuring optimal space utilization, competitive pricing, and timely shipment uplift.
Working Location: Changi
Working Hours: Rotating Shifts
- Morning Shift: Monday – Friday: 9.00am – 5.30pmAlternate Saturday: 9.00am – 1.00pm
- Night Shift: Monday – Friday: 5.00pm – 1.30amAlternate Saturday/Sunday: 5.00pm – 9.00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and monitor cargo space allocation to maximise loading efficiency and consolidation opportunities.
- Track freight status and proactively update customers, airlines, and internal stakeholders.
- Liaise closely with airlines on rate enquiries, space requests, bookings, and shipment tracking matters.
- Create, maintain, and review buying and selling rates with customers and carriers.
- Ensure all shipments are fully prepared, booked, and uplifted on schedule at agreed rates.
- Produce regular progress reports, including shipment performance and profit & loss analysis.
- Handle RFQs and tenders, including rate sourcing, costing, and submission support.
- Coordinate closely with Sales teams on customer enquiries and provide optimal logistics solutions.
- Maintain strong awareness of market buying and selling rates from airlines and customers.
- Plan and manage bumped or rebooked shipments to ensure minimal operational impact.
- Perform bookings with multiple carriers based on cost, capacity, and transit requirements.
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Warehouse teams to ensure shipments meet uplift schedules.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in air freight planning, procurement, or related logistics roles.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Good organisational and time management abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and carriers.
