School Teaching Assistant (Braddell/Toa Payoh)

Roles & Responsibilities

Location: Braddell or Toa Payoh (Nearest MRT)
Contract: 01 July 2026 to 30 June 2027

Working Hours:

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 4:30pm
• Fridays: 7:30am to 4pm

1. Upkeep of Teaching & Learning Resources

• Maintain and prepare resources for lessons in the Science Room, Mathematics Room, and Tinkering Corner
• Ensure all teaching materials (e.g. books, expendables, science specimens, math manipulatives) are properly stored, maintained, and available when required
• Oversee general décor, cleanliness, and safety of assigned rooms
• Advise teachers and students on available resources, their location, and proper usage
• Maintain records of loans/usage of equipment and materials (excluding IT equipment)
• Track damages, faulty equipment, and breakages
• Maintain servicing records for equipment and resources

2. Support for School Programmes

• Assist in lesson preparation and conduct of practical sessions (e.g. Science practical tests), where required
• Support school programmes such as hydroponics and gardening, including plant maintenance and procurement of materials
• Assist teachers during student activities and gardening sessions
• Provide support for school learning events (e.g. Tinkerlution Programme, supplementary classes, enrichment workshops)

3. Safety Management

• Ensure safety standards are maintained in all assigned rooms
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety guidelines (e.g. proper labelling and storage of chemicals in Science Room)
• Be familiar with emergency Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Participate in safety audits

4. Stock Management

• Conduct stocktakes twice yearly for all resources (e.g. books, lab equipment, microscopes, apparatus, models, manipulatives)
• Maintain accurate inventory records
• Identify items for replacement, disposal, or redundancy where necessary

5. Others

• Perform any other duties as assigned by School Leaders or Heads of Department

Job Requirements:

• Minimum GCE ‘N’ Levels
• Basic office skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel)
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Organised, detail-oriented, and responsible
