Appointment Purpose
The Student Care Teacher supports the delivery of a structured student care programme by providing supervision, guidance, and care to a small group of 10 to 15 primary school students. The role involves homework supervision, academic reinforcement, and supporting students’ physical, emotional, and social well‑being within a safe and orderly environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Programme and Learning Support
- Supervise and guide students in the completion of daily school homework
- Conduct spelling practice and simple learning checks to support literacy development
- Provide age‑appropriate explanations and learning support aligned with students’ abilities
- Encourage positive learning habits, independence, and responsibility
Care, Safety, and Well‑Being
- Ensure the safety, supervision, and well‑being of students at all times
- Facilitate meal times (lunch and tea break) in accordance with centre routines
- Escort students safely from a nearby primary school (approximately 7 minutes’ walk) to the centre
- Observe students’ behaviour and emotional well‑being, and report concerns to centre management when necessary
Environment and Professional Practice
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment consistent with health and safety practices
- Apply consistent and fair behaviour guidance strategies to promote a positive and respectful environment
- Adhere to centre policies, operational procedures, and professional conduct standards
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and centre leaders to support programme quality
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Nitec or Higher Nitec qualification (or equivalent)
- Able to support primary‑level homework
- Willingness to comply with centre policies related to child safety, supervision, and conduct
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in student care, childcare, tuition, or classroom support is an advantage
- Suitable for fresh graduates, part‑time applicants, or mid‑career entrants
- Demonstrates patience, reliability, and a caring, child‑centred approach
- Able to manage small groups of children calmly and effectively
Working Arrangements
- School Terms:
Monday to Friday, 12:00 / 1:00 pm – 6:00 / 7:00 pm - School Holidays:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 / 7:00 pm - No weekend or public holiday duties
Contract Terms and Remuneration
- Contract commitment of 12 to 24 months
- Monthly salary: $1,500 – $2,000 (After Employer CPF)
- Salary commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience
