Our client is a major international developer and operator of mission-critical facilities, backed by significant institutional capital and delivering hyperscale and enterprise projects across Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. As they continue to expand aggressively across the APAC region, they are now seeking an experienced Project Manager (Mechanical) to strengthen their regional technical delivery capability.
This is a rare opportunity for an engineering professional to step into a high-profile regional role, working on some of the most technically complex and business-critical infrastructure developments currently being built across Asia.
The Role
Based in Singapore and working closely with the APAC delivery leadership team, this position will play a key role in the management of mechanical engineering design review, consultant coordination and on-site construction oversight for both existing and future data centre projects.
You will act as the critical link between internal project leadership, external consultants and site delivery teams, ensuring all mechanical systems are designed, reviewed, coordinated and delivered to the highest engineering and operational standards.
This role offers full project lifecycle exposure , from design management through to construction quality control, commissioning and final handover.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design Review & Consultant Management
- Review and approve external consultant mechanical engineering submissions across HVAC, plumbing and associated building services.
- Ensure all design documents are fully developed, technically robust and supported by required engineering calculations.
- Drive consistency and compliance with internal engineering standards across all APAC projects.
- Liaise directly with external consultants to ensure timely completion of all required deliverables.
Construction Delivery & Quality Oversight
- Support Project Managers and Site Delivery teams during live construction phases.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor installation quality and ensure mechanical systems are built in accordance with approved designs and company standards.
- Identify and resolve design or execution issues arising during construction.
Commissioning & Handover
- Support integrated systems testing, commissioning activities and final engineering handover.
- Assist in ensuring all systems are operationally compliant and fully documented.
Internal Standards & Engineering Development
- Contribute to the development of internal engineering procedures and best practice delivery standards.
- Support broader internal engineering design improvement initiatives across the regional portfolio.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 6 years’ experience within mechanical building services engineering design and/or project delivery
- Prior exposure to large-scale data centre, mission-critical, industrial or major infrastructure environments strongly preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, cooling, ventilation and plumbing systems
- Proven experience managing external consultants and reviewing technical engineering submissions
- Familiarity with commissioning and handover activities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered Engineer status advantageous
- Uptime Institute / TIA certifications beneficial
- Proficiency in MS Office and mechanical engineering software such as IES
- Strong English communication skills; additional Asian languages are advantageous
