We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Architectural Coordinator to drive our architectural detailing and coordination workflows and contribute to our project success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Shop Drawings & Technical Review
- Prepare and detail shop drawings for Client and Consultant approvals.
- Review and check shop working drawings submitted by subcontractors and specialist contractors to ensure strict compliance with project requirements, specifications, and authority requirements.
- Thoroughly interpret architectural drawings and specifications to understand project scope and sequence of works.
- Check drawings and raise technical queries to resolve discrepancies between drawings and those arising during project execution.
2. Coordination, Clash Resolution & Buildability
- Prepare combined services and architectural coordination drawings to eliminate design clashes and obtain approvals well ahead of site execution schedules.
- Evaluate construction details to advise project teams and consultants on site buildability, sequence of works, practical execution, and design improvements.
- Identify, highlight, and discuss discrepancies found between architectural drawings, structural/M&E details, contract documents, and specifications with Site Engineers and Consultants.
- Liaise closely with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and specialists on project matters, material submissions, and sample approvals in a timely manner.
3. Site Operations, Inspections & Quality Control
- Monitor and ensure that all architectural works on site are carried out strictly in accordance with approved shop drawings, specifications, and quality benchmarks.
- Carry out in-progress inspections and joint site inspections with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and Consultants to resolve site discrepancies, inspect detailing, and verify work quality.
- Oversee mock-up units and architectural finishes to ensure compliance with local quality standards and project aesthetic requirements.
- Attend regular meetings with owners, clients, contractors, and sub-contractors on project-related matters and assist the Project Manager with assigned ad-hoc tasks.
Job Requirements
- Education: Relevant Degree or Diploma in Architecture or its equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 4 to 5 years of relevant working experience in architectural coordination or construction project management.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, understand specifications, and recognize design discrepancies.
- Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with the requirements of relevant local authorities (e.g., BCA).
- Soft Skills: Good team player with strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with various project stakeholders.
