Associate Test Technician, Geotechnical

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element the Associate Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules code of conduct and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install test and maintain instrumentation and monitoring equipment on site.
• Carry out calibration inspection and troubleshooting of instruments and sensors.
• Collect and record monitoring data accurately for project requirements.
• Assist engineers and surveyors in instrumentation and monitoring works.
• Prepare daily reports and maintenance records.
• Ensure all work complies with safety and project requirements.
• Coordinate with site teams and support urgent monitoring activities when required.

Skills / Qualifications

Basic knowledge of instrumentation and monitoring equipment
Ability to install and test sensors and monitoring devices
Able to troubleshoot simple technical issues on site
Able to read basic drawings and instructions
Basic computer skills (Excel Word)
Good understanding of safety rules on a construction site
Able to work in an outdoor tunnel or confined space environment
Willing to work overtime or night shift when required
Experience in construction or monitoring work is an advantage
