Head of Protection & Control

Are you an experienced Protection Engineer looking to take the next step into a leadership role? As the Section Head for Protection Systems, you will lead a team of engineers and specialists responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical power infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Protection Systems team for HV and MV projects.

• Oversee the design, engineering, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of protection and control systems.

• Review and approve protection schemes, relay settings, and coordination studies.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technical staff.

• Support project execution, tender preparation, and technical evaluations.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

• Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, and technical deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in HV/MV protection systems, power system studies, and relay coordination.

• Strong knowledge of protection relays, substation automation, SCADA, and power system operations.

• Experience in testing and commissioning of protection and control systems.

• Prior leadership, supervisory, or team management experience is highly preferred.

• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent will be an advantage.
