Metals Engineer (Metallurgist)
- Lead the research development and implementation of metal alloys additives and industrial processing solutions.
- Plan and manage R&D projects from concept through pilot trials scale-up and commercialization.
- Develop project plans testing protocols and timelines while ensuring quality budget and project objectives are achieved.
- Design and oversee laboratory experiments analyse results and support laboratory operations.
- Coordinate laboratory and industrial trials maintain technical documentation and prepare project reports.
- Collaborate with metallurgical laboratories subcontractors and external partners on alloy development testing and validation.
- Manage proof-of-concept (PoC) projects customer demonstrations and technical knowledge databases.
- Supervise and mentor junior researchers and support project execution.
- Oversee project administration including budgets procurement expense reporting and project tracking.
- Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and provide technical support during implementation.
Requirements
- Masters degree or higher in Metallurgical Engineering Materials Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial R&D experience in metal processing alloy development refining melting casting or related metallurgical applications.
- Strong expertise in alloy development process optimization and scaling laboratory research to industrial production.
- Solid knowledge of metallurgical processes material characterization and manufacturing practices.
- Excellent technical writing analytical problem-solving and project management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
