Project Coordinator, Senior Services (ElderAid)
Roles & Responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE
To support the effective delivery of the ElderAid befriending programme through meaningful engagement with beneficiaries, befrienders and community stakeholders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in strengthening SRC’s role in the local community, specifically in the Red Cross Community Hub.
- Work closely with the Programme Executive and Head on the development and progression of the befriending programme in the various districts.
- Collaborate with grassroots, government and non-government agencies on the development and management of both the befrienders and the beneficiaries.
- Provide quality and personalized one-stop information services for clients and community stakeholders.
- Support training of befrienders to strengthen and equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Equip volunteers with adequate proficiency skills in the “Befriending of the Elderly” in the community.
- Ensure timely update of all information.
- Coordinate with Programme Manager and relevant District Managers for the follow up of the client(s).
- Plan and carry out local engagements for the volunteers in collaboration with the relevant District Managers.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications and Experience / Skills
- Proficiency in spoken Mandarin is required to effectively support and communicate with Mandarin-speaking beneficiaries.
- Ability to communicate in local Chinese dialects (e.g. Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochew) would be an advantage to facilitate communication with beneficiaries who are more comfortable conversing in these dialects.
- At least 2 years working experience in volunteer management is preferred.
- Experience working in healthcare or with the elderly, would be advantageous.
- Computer literate.
