Job Summary
You will manage product categories to optimize sourcing, pricing, promotions, and inventory, driving sales growth and profitability while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned product categories by sourcing products, negotiating pricing, promotions, and launching new items to meet customer needs and market trends
- Negotiate costs, rebates, promotional support, and trading terms to maximize profitability and supplier value
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong business relationships to ensure reliable supply and quality
- Curate product selections to maintain the right mix across stores, discontinuing slow-moving items and listing new products strategically
- Develop and implement pricing strategies to stay competitive and achieve sales targets
- Plan and execute promotional activities, discounts, and seasonal campaigns to drive customer engagement and sales
- Monitor competitors’ pricing and promotional activities to inform category strategies
- Collaborate closely with supply chain and procurement teams to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize out-of-stock situations
- Reduce excess inventory and product wastage through effective inventory management
- Analyze category performance data to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly
- Recommend product assortment changes based on market trends and sales analysis
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the line manager
