Lab Technician (1-Year Contract) x2 — Coatings/Chemical Manufacturing
Roles & Responsibilities
📍 One-North area | 💰 Up to $2,800/month | 🕐 1-Year Contract (Renewable)
Our client, a leading global manufacturer in the coatings and chemical industry, is looking for Lab Technicians to join their laboratory team. This role supports coating product development, manufacturing plant scale-up qualification across multiple plants, customer sampling, exposure site activities, and coordination of customer technical training.
Responsibilities:
- Support formulation work, sample preparation, paint characterization, and test reporting
- Operate lab testing equipment independently — high-speed dispermat, viscometers, aging chambers, and digital imaging stations
- Communicate test data to plant QC/Process teams to support new product scale-up and qualification
- Maintain lab safety and cleanliness in line with 5S standards and the company's Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS), including full compliance with chemical handling, storage, and waste disposal procedures
- Manage sample logistics and support technical training for customers
- Participate actively in site safety programs and laboratory audits
Requirements:
- ITE or Diploma in Science / Chemistry / Engineering or a related discipline
- Candidates with up to about 2 years of experience in a chemical lab environment are welcome to apply; on-the-job training will be provided
- Good command of English (spoken and written)
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with SAP is an advantage
