Role Overview

We are seeking experienced CantoneseEnglish Medical Interpreters for a full-time remote Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) position. This role supports medical appointments consultations and urgent healthcare interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate impartial interpretation between Cantonese -speaking patients and English-speaking healthcare providers
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
• Apply strong knowledge of medical terminology and interpreter ethics
• Handle sensitive and urgent medical calls with professionalism
• Remain available during assigned shifts and participate in quality reviews or team check-ins as required

Candidate Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Cantoneseand English
• Minimum 1 year of professional medical interpreting experience (OPI or VRI)
• Strong understanding of medical terminology ethics and confidentiality standards
• High school diploma or equivalent (higher education preferred)
• Excellent listening memory retention and note-taking skills
• Comfortable working remotely and managing varied call types
• Must successfully pass a language proficiency assessment and background check

  • USB wired headset and a plain white T-shirt (required for video calls)
  • Laptop or PC with:
    • Intel Core i5 (8th generation or higher)
    • 8 GB RAM
