Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Associate (Psychology / Health Research) for a research project under the CoTV5 Grant in the Department of Psychological Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Department of Psychological Medicine at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine is committed to advancing mental health through high-quality psychiatric teaching and training (undergraduate and postgraduate) while serving as a leading centre for mental health research in Asia, integrating education and research with clinical service within the National University Health System (NUHS). More information on the department is available at https://medicine.nus.edu.sg/pcm/. Appointments will be made on a 2-year contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

Research Associate will be responsible for, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator (PI) to transform research plans into tangible outputs.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Research Associate will work closely with the research team and relevant stakeholders to support the smooth conduct of the research project. The Research Associate will:

• Manage and coordinate research activities, including study protocols, procedures and project documentation;
• Conduct literature reviews and contribute to manuscripts, reports and other research outputs;
• Oversee participant recruitment, retention and follow-up activities;
• Conduct quantitative and/or qualitative data collection, management and analysis;
• Support ethics and regulatory submissions, including IRB applications and amendments;
• Coordinate meetings and communications with project stakeholders and collaborators;
• Support the preparation and dissemination of research findings through reports, presentations, publications and conferences;
• Provide supervision and mentorship to junior research staff and student assistants, where applicable; and
• Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that may be assigned by the PI.

Qualifications

The applicant should:

• Hold a Master's degree in Psychology, Public Health, Behavioural Science, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Have prior experience in research project management and coordination;
• Be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and possess strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills;
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and research databases;
• Have an interest in mental health, behavioural health, clinical or community-based research; and
• Experience in research ethics and IRB processes, statistical or qualitative analysis software (e.g. SPSS, R, NVivo), and academic writing, publications or conference presentations would be advantageous.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
