Senior Consultant, PMO Support - Core Banking System Renewal Project (for Banking Industry)

Responsibilities:

• Lead PMO activities for the Operations team in the implementation of a new core banking system across the APAC region, covering more than 10 countries.
• Drive and coordinate core banking system replacement initiatives for APAC offices, ensuring alignment with regional and local business objectives.
• Plan and manage project resources while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency through process standardization and systemization.
• Oversee budget planning and management (Ringi process), including the evaluation and enhancement of budgeting workflows and systemization initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain ad hoc project documentation to address project issues, risks, challenges, and key decision-making requirements.
• Support the client's PMO team in project planning, progress tracking, and cross-functional coordination to ensure smooth and timely project execution.
• Prepare, consolidate, and present weekly and monthly project status reports for internal management and client stakeholders.
• Uphold consulting professionalism by maintaining confidentiality, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, and promoting effective collaboration across client and project teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a top-tier or leading consulting firm, with a focus on banking industry projects.
• Business-level or above proficiency in English, including strong verbal communication and presentation/documentation (PowerPoint) skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across geographically dispersed teams and overseas offices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build relationships and coordinate effectively with remote team members across multiple locations.
• Professional mindset with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, self-discipline, and commitment to achieving project objectives.
• Proven expertise in PMO functions for large-scale banking transformation projects, particularly in resource planning, budget management, governance, and management reporting.
• Demonstrated experience in end-to-end project management, including project planning, execution, monitoring, governance, and closure of system implementation projects, with accountability for scope, timeline, budget, and quality.
• Strong risk, issue, dependency, and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to proactively identify risks, drive mitigation actions, manage cross-functional coordination, and communicate effectively with senior management and steering committees.
• Proficiency in Japanese would be an advantage to facilitate communication and collaboration with regional stakeholders, clients, and teams across APAC where these languages are used.
