Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary

Assist chefs with food preparation and kitchen operations by washing, cutting, and preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting daily kitchen activities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and food items accurately according to instructions to support chefs.
• Wash, cut, and prepare ingredients to ensure timely food preparation.
• Receive, check, and store food supplies properly to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils to meet food safety standards.
• Ensure proper storage and labelling of ingredients to prevent contamination and spoilage.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures consistently during all kitchen tasks.
• Wash kitchen utensils and equipment as needed to support kitchen operations.
• Support daily kitchen opening and closing activities to ensure readiness and cleanliness.
• Perform other kitchen duties assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to assist smooth kitchen workflow.

Required competencies and certifications

• Able to perform physical duties such as standing for extended periods and handling kitchen supplies.
• Willing to learn and able to follow instructions.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good teamwork and positive working attitude.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• No prior kitchen experience required; training will be provided.
