Buyer – Medical & Lab Supplies Trading

Roles & Responsibilities

Department: Procurement / Supply Chain
Reports to: Managering Director

Job Summary

The Buyer is responsible for placing and managing purchase orders for medical supplies and consumables, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role works with approved suppliers, logistics teams, and internal stakeholders to maintain smooth day-to-day purchasing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders with approved suppliers based on stock needs and demand forecasts
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with warehouse/sales teams to prevent stockouts or overstock
• Track order status, delivery timelines, and follow up on delays
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules within existing supplier agreements
• Verify product documentation (certificates of analysis, registration/import licenses) for compliance
• Track expiry dates for consumables and reagents
• Coordinate with logistics/customs brokers on shipment documentation and clearance
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and prepare regular procurement reports
• Resolve issues related to pricing discrepancies, delivery delays, or product quality with existing suppliers

Requirements

Education

• Diplome or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field

Experience

• 2–3 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably in medical / laboratories consumbales, pharmaceuticals, healthcare distribution

Skills

• Good negotiation and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of medical device / pharmaceutical regulations and import documentation
• Proficiency in MS Dynamics / Super IT Savvy can pick up new system fast
• Detail-oriented, organized, able to manage multiple orders simultaneously

Industry: Local SME Dealing with Trading to Hospitals / laboratories / Healthcare sectors
Hours: 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm (Or 7.30am to 4.30pm)
Location: Ang Mo Kio
Salary: up to $4200 + AWS+ + VB
