Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Buyer & Commercial Data Analyst to join our Singapore fashion retail team. This role combines fashion buying, merchandising and commercial data analysis, with a strong focus on using data and market insights to support business decisions.

You will work closely with the Merchandising and Retail teams to analyse sales performance, inventory trends and customer demand, while supporting product selection, buying, stock planning and promotional strategies for the Singapore market. The ideal candidate will have a background in Finance, Business Analytics, Accounting, Retail Merchandising or a related field, with a strong interest in fashion and retail.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse sales, inventory, product and store performance data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Prepare regular sales and inventory reports, dashboards and analysis for management review.
• Support the planning of monthly and seasonal product buying based on historical sales, inventory levels and market demand.
• Monitor product performance and provide recommendations on replenishment, allocation, markdowns and stock movement.
• Assist in analysing sales, gross profit and inventory targets and track actual performance against budget.
• Support promotional and campaign planning by providing data-driven analysis on product performance and sales trends.
• Work with the retail, warehouse, marketing and merchandising teams to ensure timely delivery, allocation and stock availability across Singapore stores.
• Assist with product and competitor analysis to understand Singapore fashion retail trends and customer demand.
• Prepare management reports and presentations using Excel and other data analysis tools.
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement, inventory and merchandising processes through data analysis.
• Perform other operational and analytical tasks supporting the Singapore merchandising/buying team.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Business Analytics, Economics, Supply Chain, Retail Management or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant working experience in finance, data analysis, commercial analysis, merchandising, retail or a related field.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse large sets of data and prepare reports.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL or other data analytics tools would be an advantage.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with good attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with sales, gross profit, inventory and other commercial KPIs.
• Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work with different internal teams.
• A genuine interest in fashion, retail and consumer trends is preferred.
• Candidates with a Finance/Accounting background who are looking to move into commercial, merchandising or retail analytics are welcome to apply.
