Early Interventionist / 1:1 Shadow Educator

Roles & Responsibilities

Mosaic Preschool is seeking an experienced, empathetic, and dedicated Early Interventionist / 1:1 Shadow Educator to support toddler within our mainstream, play-inspired boutique preschool environment.

You will work closely with the children, classroom educators, and the Centre Principal to provide individualized developmental, sensory, and behavioral scaffolding. Your goal is to empower children for meaningful classroom participation, emotional co-regulation, and natural social connections with peers.

Key Responsibilities

• 1:1 Classroom Scaffolding: Provide tailored, unobtrusive support during group learning, outdoor play, sensory explorations, meals, and daily routines.

• Positive Behavior Support & Co-Regulation: Identify sensory triggers and behavioral antecedents; implement proactive de-escalation, visual supports, and regulation strategies.

• Fostering Independence & Peer Engagement: Systematically fade prompts to encourage self-help skills, autonomous decision-making, and natural peer-to-peer interactions without creating adult over-dependence.

• Collaborative Teaching: Partner closely with the Lead Classroom Teacher and Centre Principal to differentiate classroom activities and maintain a seamless classroom rhythm.

• Documentation & Communication: Maintain objective daily/weekly observational logs, track developmental milestones, and participate in alignment discussions with parents and multidisciplinary specialists.

Requirements

• Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education (SPED), Early Childhood Intervention, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of direct experience providing shadowing or early intervention support in an early childhood or inclusive preschool setting.

• Core Skills: Solid understanding of early childhood milestones , sensory processing differences, and positive behavior management.

• Mindset: High emotional intelligence, adaptability, patience, and a collaborative team ethos suited for a boutique, relationship-focused school culture.
