Roles & Responsibilities

Chemical Engineering Technician (Sludge Treatment)

• Location: Tuas
• (Company Transport / Transport Allowance $120 if candidate travel to work by themselves)
• Working hours: 5.5 work Monday to Friday (8am – 5pm); Saturday (8am – 12pm) / after probation Shift Work (Day: 8am – 8pm, Night: 8pm – 8am)
• Basic salary: $1,900 – $2,700 (Entitled to overtime / shift work allowances)
• Minimum NITEC/Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, email, internet research).
• Able to perform overtime/shift work.

Responsibilities:

• To assist supervisor in plant operation, sludge pit and weight bridge activities.
• To assist in maximizing treatment quantity of DWS and DS safely
• To minimize utilities consumptions such as PNG, caustic soda, new water, electricity and lime.
• To monitor DWS and DS hopper levels at time to prevent unnecessary shutdown and to communicate with crane operator if hoppers level is low.
• To check dried sludge condition (field) every two hours and to balance / adjust DWS & DS feedings to achieved desired incinerator and sludge dryer outlet temperature to minimize PNG usage.
• To ensure that sludge transfer pump is in good condition all the time.
• To assist during plant maintenance shutdown.
• To carry out simple troubleshooting job.
• To patrol, monitor and feedback any abnormalities.
• To adhere strictly on all EHS rules and regulations imposed by the plant.
• To ensure good housekeeping is maintained at plant area.
