Outreach Associate (Freelance)

Roles & Responsibilities

The Direct Donor Partnerships team at the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) engages the community to raise awareness and funds in support of SRC’s humanitarian mission and programmes serving vulnerable persons and families.

As an Outreach Associate, you will engage members of the public, share information about SRC’s humanitarian causes and encourage support for our fundraising initiatives. You will work closely with the Team Leader and contribute towards the team’s engagement and fundraising targets.

This is a freelance part-time position. High-performing associates may be considered for a 1-year full-time contract position after six months, subject to performance, suitability and organisational requirements. The full-time position offers a basic salary, commission and opportunities for development and growth.

Working Hours: Freelance Part-Time, paid on an hourly basis. Minimum commitment of 3 days per week, from 4.00pm to 9.00pm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engage members of the public through street outreach and telephone calls to raise awareness of SRC’s humanitarian causes and fundraising initiatives.
• Communicate SRC’s programmes and causes clearly and professionally and encourage members of the public to support its fundraising efforts.
• Work towards individual and team engagement and fundraising targets.
• Perform administrative duties and attend team meetings, briefings and training sessions on non-canvassing days, where required.
• Contribute ideas and support the implementation of outreach approaches to strengthen donor engagement and experience.
• Represent SRC professionally and advocate its humanitarian mission to members of the public.
• Respond appropriately to feedback and enquiries from members of the public and donors.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum G.C.E. “O” Level qualification or equivalent.
• Prior experience in fundraising, public engagement, customer service, promotions or outdoor sales would be advantageous but is not essential.
